Following the success of 2019’s Mr Minsky’s Rooftop Cabaret, the glamorous speakeasy Nineteen Ten is hosting another racy night out for this year’s Fringe.  This time, the Burlesque Beauties Lyra La Belle and Lizzy Baker have teamed up to curate a night of sizzling hot burlesque that feels right at home in this swanky rooftop setting.

Lyra La Belle and Lizzy Baker are mainstays of Adelaide’s thriving burlesque scene, and as always they present a delightfully entertaining and titillating show. Cheeky and charming, they shimmy, bump, and grind amongst the patrons in dazzling costumes. Expect a healthy dose of audience participation, and expect to get a little wet when the performers make use of Nineteen Ten’s signature swimming pool. Lyra La Belle’s expert take on the classic martini glass act was an especially thrilling highlight. Guest performances from award-winning burlesque performer Letitia Stitch and the fierce fire dancer Leopard Lass round out the evening’s line-up. Leopard was an absolute standout, a bold and fearsome stage presence that seemed to be made of pure hellfire itself, expertly weaving fire dance with traditional striptease.

Live three-piece band Empire was a beautiful touch, accompanying the performers with a setlist of classic burlesque standards mixed with modern tunes. A special shoutout also goes to the staff of Nineteen Ten, who coped admirably well with the mad rush for cocktails as the show was about to begin, and expertly served the seated patrons as to not disturb the show.

Once again, Nineteen Ten has made itself a premier destination for a relaxed and raunchy night out during Fringe. Bring your sweetheart or a bunch of fun friends and enjoy the champagne-drenched show.
