Why: This gigantic residential building – both on the outside and inside – display an undulating curve, applying controlled geometry as well as elements of a naturalist nature. The courtyard acts as a distributor of light and ventilation, the chimneys transformed into disturbing anthropomorphic shapes, and a loft area containing 270 partitioned arches in a catenary construction. This architecture exhibits the intrinsic mysteriousness of Gaudi’s genius.
